Penelope W. Knox

Penelope W. Knox

Penelope Wendy Knox ("Penny"), 69, died on April 15, 2022 in Houston, TX of acute respiratory failure. Born on Aug. 4, 1952, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to William A. and Jessie L. Knox, her family moved to Los Angeles and later Houston, where she graduated from Bellaire High School in 1970.

After earning a B.A., and then an MBA, from the University of Houston, she worked as a research librarian at Arthur Andersen & Co. for many years, afterwards moving into executive search. However, it was singing that gave Penny the most joy in life. Having a beautiful, clear soprano voice, she sang at weddings, with the Houston Choral Society, and from the mid 1980s onward with the choir at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Houston, where she was also a cantor. Over the years she also took part in several other ministries and activities with fellow parishioners.

Although her immediate family members, including her brother Kim, preceded her in death, Penny is survived by extended family and friends of long duration.

A memorial service was be held for her on Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m., at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 3785 Barker Cypress Rd, Houston, TX 77084, 281-493-3161.For additional information, please contact Penny's cousin, Rebecca Noel, at 760-612-3696.
