I met Richard because of his love of music. He wanted to meet someone who could read the score of Alban Berg's opera "Lulu." That was beyond my capability, but we became good friends. We went to a few good restaurants together. (A real treat back then). Richard gave me my first "real" perfume... L'air du temps....the most beautiful fragrance I had ever experienced. I miss Richard. He was very smart (Pomona College in Claremont CA) and cultured, and died way too soon.
