One day of our senior year, Cyndi came up to me in P.E. class on a day we were inside playing basketball because of rain outside. I remember that day so clearly. She said, "you don't recognize me, do you?" I said I didn't, and she said, "I recognize you." She proceeded to tell me that she lived in Tripoli, Libya during the year my family was there, when I was in seventh grade. She remembered me specifically from gym class there, and she said she had the yearbook to prove it. I believed her, I just didn't remember her at all. Anyway, the next day she brought the 1965 Ambassador yearbook from the Oil Companies School in Tripoli, and there we both were on a double page spread that was taken of our entire gym class. What a trip!!!
We reminisced about those strange days, living in that foreign land, and about the friends we had in common, and those we have seen since. I will alway remember Cyndi's warm loving presence and her great sense of humor. I will remember her smiling and laughing.
