I often think about him even though he died so tragically many years ago.  We hung out in high school English and several times he would come to SFA to see everybody.  He was always so happy and always had a grin on his face.  He died in 1975 or 1976.

Danny was always my protector. During our graduation ceremony, when riot seemed apparent due to the speaker, Danny sat beside and took my hand and gently said "just hold on to my hand and I will get you out of here." Fortunately our awesome principal Mr. Andrews stood up and shut the speaker down thus averting the possible riot. Later in the winter of 1975, I exited the sanctuary of Bellaire United Methodist church with my new husband to look up and see Danny's open arms as we hugged and he swung me around. What a guy!! Loved him and think of him often- six years in the same homeroom and Sunday school classes and my dance partner for "Oklahoma".

What a great guy! I grew up with Danny at Bellaire United Methodist Church. He always had a smile on his face. Many years later both of my kids had his sister for their middle school language arts teacher here in Austin. It was good to reconnect with someone from the Alsobrook family.
Danny, gone too soon, but not forgotten.

I remember Danny quite well. We were friends during high school and ran into each other a few times after high school. The last time I met with Danny was in Big Bend National Park. I was up in the basin and stopped for a break and there was Danny!  So we had this great conversation. I never saw him again and was shocked when I heard he had died. We will meet up again some day.
